Homebound parishioners who may live in their own home or at one of the area care facilities may receive visits from one of our pastoral care ministry staff members or volunteers. Communion may be received during this visit if so desired.
Hospital visits are made daily, Monday through Friday, at St. Luke’s and Mercy Hospitals. Hospitals outside of Cedar Rapids (e.g. U of I Hospitals) may be visited upon request, depending on the availability of a minister.
If you are admitted to the hospital, please let the hospital staff know you are a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. This may be done upon admission or by contacting your hospital pastoral care office. You may also call the St. Joseph Parish Office at 319.377.4869 to arrange a visit.
If you are homebound and would like to be visited and/or receive communion, please contact Deacon Jeff Volker, Deacon and Pastoral Minister at 319.377.4869 or by email at [email protected].
Anointing of the Sick may only be administered by a priest. If you would like to be anointed, please call the Parish Office. To learn more about this sacrament here.
